Take a full-length, timed section before you study anything, and sort your misses by topic. That single test tells you whether your points are leaking from algebra, from geometry formulas, or simply from running out of time — which is the difference between studying what you need and re-solving problems you already know. Everything after this step should target the topics the diagnostic flags.
Once you know your weak topics, drill them one at a time instead of doing scattered mixed sets. Working ten function problems back-to-back lets you see the same idea from different angles until the approach is automatic; jumping between topics every question never gives any of them time to stick. Master one area, then fold it back into mixed practice.
Always practice on the clock — about 1 minute per question. ACT Math isn't usually hard because the concepts are advanced; it's hard because it's long and it's fast.
