Prepare the remote TACHS workspace

Practice the correct 2026 calculator and paper routine.

Updated October 3, 2026

The 2026 parent guide introduces an embedded four-function calculator; personal calculators remain prohibited. Follow its scratch-paper instructions, including removal after Mathematics.

Run the prescribed device and proctoring checks. Rehearse figure reasoning without assuming paper remains available for Ability.

Use the official readiness check on the device intended for testing. Confirm the current operating-system, browser, webcam, microphone and network requirements rather than assuming that a tablet or every computer is supported. The full exam guide links the current requirements.

Keep the TACHS ID and assigned session code available. Prepare a quiet, cleared workspace and begin login at least 30 minutes before the assigned time. Follow the room scan and screen-sharing directions; the student starts the test with its Start control.

While a subtest is still open, use permitted review time to check unanswered or marked questions. Confirming Finish locks that subtest. Standard working time is about 130 minutes; approved extended working time is about 195 minutes. Three 5-minute optional breaks and two 1-minute pauses add 17 minutes if fully used, before login and directions.

The new calculator is opened through the Proctorio toolbar during eligible portions. Its exact availability in each operational subtest was not established publicly. Do not use a personal calculator, and discard scratch paper after Mathematics before Ability.

Keep official technical support information available to the parent. The September guide includes live technical chat. If interrupted, follow that process and the live instructions rather than independently restarting or changing devices.
