SHSAT: Fill-in numeric response

Enter a numerical result in the requested form.

Updated October 3, 2026

A method you can use

  1. Identify exactly what the blank requests. A time, a rate and a total are different quantities even when they use the same numbers.
  2. Keep fractions exact during the calculation. Round only if the prompt explicitly asks for a stated precision.
  3. Enter the requested number, then check its sign and unit in the original problem. Local fields accept whole numbers, decimals and equivalent fractions, including a minus sign. Omit units and round only as requested.
  4. An ordinary numeric field does not reproduce an official equation editor or multi-blank tool. Use the official readiness tool to learn those interfaces.

Before you answer
